Our Clients

As an organization we are privileged to work closely with a number of our clients for more than twenty years.

CAI is proud of our long term relationship with our clients. These relationships are built on adding tangible value year over year, listening to each other, and providing flexibility as requirements change. A number of client testimonial are provided below.

In Canada, our client base includes financial services, retail, distribution, and the service sector customers. A brief case study of one of our Toronto based clients, a major property and casualty insurer, is provided below.

A Managed Maintenance Case Study

Since early 2003, CAI has provided application maintenance and application development services for a major Canadian Property and Casualty insurer based in Toronto. The engagement began with four major objectives;

  1. Separate the development and support teams
  2. Reduce the level of effort on support
  3. Improve the quality of applications
  4. Convert contractors to staff in order to prevent knowledge leakage.

In addition to achieving each of the major objectives of the engagement, over the past few years CAI has differentiated its level of service through the ability to:

  1. Improve productivity over time: 23% in Year 1, 15% in Year 2, 28% in Year 3.
  2. Improve IT processes (work prioritization, development (SDLC) issue visibility, improved support processes)
  3. Introduce discipline regarding measurement and root cause analysis

CAI has demonstrated an ability to create ongoing value for this client in different ways - further to the objectives defined as part of the original engagement. These projects have included:

Web Site Re-design: In 2005/2006, CAI undertook a complete redesign of the user interface of the main customer web site. A user centric design approach was deployed with emphasis on ensuring effective:

  1. Information Architecture
  2. Usability and Accessibility (UI Design)
  3. Graphic Design
  4. Prototyping and User Acceptance

Technology Strategy: In 2005, CAI also undertook the development of a technology strategy for this client, including defining the Service Oriented Architecture and developing the strategies for application reuse, business flexibility, vendor support, re-engineering, and enterprise application integration. An application design strategy was created defining the Data Access Layer, The Presentation Layer, and The Business Logic Layer.

Re-engineering Plan and Initial Project (Appraisal) Development and Deployment: In 2006, CAI began a collaborative project to re-engineer one of this client's core applications. The project included Domain Modeling (Domain Analysis, Domain Design, Domain Implementation), Component Decoupling, Creation of a Data Access Layer and the complete design, development, testing, and deployment of web based appraisal application.
